What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The N4 Notice of termination was void because the information on the Notice was incorrect. The Tenant provided proof that he paid January rent on January 3, 2020. The L1 application for eviction and arrears was converted to an L9 application for arrears only.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $4,200.00 in rent arrears and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by November 20, 2020, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
