What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and utility bills as per the previous order issued on February 25, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 21, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $391.56, which represents the rent owing up to August 10, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $39.45 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 11, 2020 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by August 21, 2020, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
