What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant causing undue damage to the premises and seriously impairing the safety of any person. The application was filed after two incidents where the Tenant was allegedly intoxicated and left a pan on the stove, leading to a fire.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $729.47 for the repair costs and $186.00 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 30, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
