What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's refusal to allow the Landlord access to the rental unit for inspections related to the Landlord's sale of the property. The Landlord also claimed the Tenant had substantially interfered with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment of the unit.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 15, 2020. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. If the Tenant does not vacate by December 15, the Tenant must pay the Landlord $76.34 per day in compensation. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owed by December 5, 2020, the Tenant will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting December 6, 2020.
