What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The parties mutually agreed to resolve all matters at issue in the application and requested an order on consent.
The ruling
The parties agreed to a final, non-voidable termination of the tenancy effective April 30, 2021. The Tenant must pay $24,000 in rent arrears to the Landlord in 24 monthly payments of $1,000 starting May 1, 2021. The Tenant must also pay the March 2021 and April 2021 rent in full by the first day of each corresponding month. If the Tenant fails to make any of the required payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant, and the balance owing will become payable immediately with interest.
