What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlords have entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. If the Tenants vacate on or before April 30, 2022, the Landlord shall pay the Tenants $8,000. If the Landlord does not pay the $8,000 by May 1, 2022, the Landlord will owe interest. If the Tenants fail to vacate by April 30, 2022, they forfeit the $8,000 compensation.
