What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay compensation for damages caused by them or a person they permitted in the residential complex. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The Landlord's application was granted. The Tenants were ordered to pay the Landlord $1,035 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage and/or replacing the damaged property, as well as $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants did not pay the full amount by February 13, 2022, they would start owing simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
