What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet its maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, including issues with a leaky bathroom fan, leaky vent in the bedroom closet, and moisture damage to the laminate flooring.

The ruling

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $1,974.37 as a rent abatement for the maintenance issues, as well as $45 for the cost of filing the application. The total amount of $2,019.37 must be paid by November 6, 2021, after which interest will accrue.
