What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant, another occupant, or someone Tenant permitted, wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the premises. Landlord also applied for an order requiring Tenant to compensate Landlord for the damage.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 2, 2021. The Tenant must move out by April 2, 2021 and pay the Landlord $2,000 for the cost of repairing the damage and $175 for the application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 2, 2021, they will owe interest starting April 3, 2021 at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by April 2, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction.
