What happened
The individual Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Tenant did not comply with a condition set out in a previous Board order. The corporate Landlord and the individual Landlord later applied for the same relief. The duplicate applications resulted in conflicting Board orders, leading to a Board-initiated review to determine if a serious error occurred.
The ruling
The Board has stayed the eviction order and directed a further review hearing to determine if a serious error or abuse of process occurred in the proceedings that led to the conflicting orders. The Landlord is prohibited from re-renting the unit or removing the Tenant's belongings until the review is resolved.
