What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as specified in a previous order. The Tenant did not meet the conditions of the previous order to pay $1,000 by June 20, 2021 and the July 2021 rent by July 1, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 14, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $26,253.67 in rent arrears and application fees, plus $70.58 per day in compensation for occupying the unit after August 1, 2021. If the full amount is not paid by August 14, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
