What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlord's requirement of the rental unit for personal residential occupation. The Landlord served a valid N12 Notice of Termination, but the Tenant did not vacate the unit by the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 4, 2022. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before February 4, 2022 and pay the Landlord $47.67 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from January 25, 2022 to the date the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by February 4, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
