What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed for the period from May 1, 2021 to October 15, 2021. The Landlord sold the rental unit on October 15, 2021 and was entitled to collect the rent owing during the time she owned the property, as well as the application filing fee.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $4,416.45 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by February 28, 2022, the Tenants will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
