What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the terms of a previous mediated settlement. The Tenants failed to pay the arrears and rent as specified in the settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 21, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $7,186.60, which includes rent arrears up to August 10, 2020 and the previous application fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $65.75 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 11, 2020 until they move out.
