What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by Landlord Gavin Guo. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $60.82 per day for compensation for use of the unit from August 16, 2022 until the Tenants move out. The last month's rent deposit and interest will be applied to the January 2023 rent.
