What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $6,853.58, which includes rent arrears and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $49.97 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting August 8, 2020 until they move out. If the Tenants pay $9,719.20 on or before August 18, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
