What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in the mediated settlement issued by the Board on February 20, 2020 with respect to a previous application.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 22, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $12,566.49, which represents the rent owing up to August 11, 2020 and the costs related to the application fee for the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $51.91 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting August 12, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 22, 2020, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
