What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's behaviour that impaired the safety of another person in the residential complex. The Tenant's smoking caused a fire in the rental unit, which seriously impaired the safety of the Tenant himself and other residents in the rental complex.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of November 25, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before November 25, 2021. If the unit is not vacated on or before November 25, 2021, then starting November 26, 2021, the Landlord may file this order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) so that the eviction may be enforced.
