What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenants applied alleging the Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations.
The ruling
The Landlords did not breach their obligations regarding some alleged areas of disrepair, they responded in a timely and effective manner regarding some areas, no remedy should flow to the Tenants for one area of disrepair and the remaining areas of disrepair had minimal impact on the Tenants and only a minimal remedy will flow to the Tenants. The Tenants owe $3,729.08 in rent arrears and must vacate the unit by August 15, 2020 if the full amount is not paid.
