What happened
Landlord applied for an order to require the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on May 31, 2022 and did not pay the full rent for the period from August 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 31, 2022. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,586.48, which includes rent arrears up to May 31, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 2, 2022, they will owe interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
