What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on March 31, 2021, but were still in possession on the date the application was filed. The Tenants did not pay the full rent for the period from November 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $13,800 in rent arrears up to May 31, 2021, less the $2,300 last month's rent deposit, as well as $201 for the cost of filing the application. If the full amount is not paid by November 12, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
