What happened

The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of December 31, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $5,874.80, which represents the rent arrears and compensation up to December 31, 2020, less the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by April 23, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
