What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and substantial damage to the rental unit. The Tenants did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 15, 2022. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $35,000 for rent arrears and compensation, less the rent deposit and interest. If the Tenants do not pay by January 15, 2022, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
