What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant committing an illegal act by breaking into the Landlord's offices and stealing items. The Landlord provided video surveillance footage and evidence of the stolen items being found in the Tenant's unit.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 31, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date and pay the Landlord $1,829.52 in compensation for use of the unit, plus $15.12 per day from July 17, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 31, 2021, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
