Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on August 19, 2021 with respect to application SWL-51402-21. The Tenants did not pay $1,000.00 in rent arrears by the specified deadline.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 11, 2022. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $6,688.42, which includes rent arrears up to February 28, 2022 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $39.89 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting March 1, 2022 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by March 11, 2022, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
