What happened

Landlords applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant submitted that he gave the required notice to terminate his lease based on section 95 of the Act, but the Landlord did not approve the assignment of the lease as required.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $1,924.73 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by June 11, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
