What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from April 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on February 28, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $19,600.00 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $19,801.00. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 27, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
