What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent for the period from August 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 3, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 20, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $3,589.80 on or before that date. The Tenant must pay $554.41 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $55.95 per day starting February 10, 2022, and $186.00 for application costs. If not paid, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 21, 2022.
