What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order issued on March 16, 2021. The Tenant did not meet the conditions specified in the previous order to pay the rent arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 29, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,322.15, which includes the remaining rent arrears and the application fee from the previous order, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $40.92 per day in compensation for each day of occupation starting June 19, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 29, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest on the outstanding balance starting June 30, 2021.
