What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous consent order. The Tenant did not meet the conditions specified in the consent order to pay rent arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 22, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,029.62, which includes rent arrears up to December 31, 2021 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $39.42 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting January 1, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 22, 2022, the Tenant will owe interest starting January 23, 2022.
