What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's illegal acts, including changing locks without consent and removing smoke detectors, as well as failure to maintain the rental unit and common areas.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 6, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $825 to replace the locks, $29.59 per day for use of the unit from August 27, 2021 until the Tenant vacates, and $201 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 6, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
