What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to prepare the unit for pest control treatment, resulting in a cockroach infestation that substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the residential complex by other tenants.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 30, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlord $10,420.18, which includes compensation for use of the unit, the application filing fee, and interest if the amount is not paid by the due date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
