What happened

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of September 22, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,251.89, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to September 22, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by April 24, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
