What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had already vacated the rental unit on November 30, 2021. A payment plan agreement was signed by both parties prior to the hearing, but the Tenant had not made the first payment.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated as of November 30, 2021. The Tenant is ordered to pay $4,637.87 to the Landlord, representing rent arrears and costs up to November 30, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest. A payment plan was established with monthly payments of $193.25 from January 20, 2022 to December 20, 2023. If the Tenant defaults on payments from March 20, 2022 onwards, the full outstanding balance becomes payable with interest.
