What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the current lawful monthly rent of $995.00 in full and on time, on or before the 1st business day of each month for the next 12-month period commencing October 1, 2021 through to and including September 1, 2022. If the Tenant fails to make any one of the payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application by October 15, 2021. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by October 15, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
