What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination effective April 30, 2020 due to rent arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 28, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,248.42 in rent arrears and application fees, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant shall also pay $29.59 per day in compensation from March 18, 2021 until the unit is vacated. If the full amount is not paid by March 28, 2021, the Tenant will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
