What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit, including breaking doors, punching holes in walls, breaking fridge shelves, and breaking the stove.

The ruling

The tenancy terminated on November 30, 2020 when the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $2,500 for the damage caused to the rental unit, including a broken door, damaged walls, and a completely smashed stove that had to be replaced. The Tenants are also ordered to pay the $186 application fee.
