What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order to pay rent arrears by a certain date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 29, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $23,273.89, which includes rent arrears up to January 18, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $76.46 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting January 19, 2023 until they move out.
