What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference with the Landlord's lawful rights and serious impairment of safety. The issues were primarily about lack of ordinary cleanliness in the rental unit, as well as excessive clutter and damage.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to restore the unit to a state of ordinary cleanliness and ensure it is free of excessive clutter by February 29, 2020. The Landlord may inspect the unit monthly to ensure compliance. If the Tenants fail to comply, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants. The Tenants are also ordered to pay the Landlord $190 for the application filing costs, to be paid in installments.
