What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from June 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 17, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 28, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $4,986.00 by that date. The Tenant must pay $4,542.40 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 17, 2022, plus $19.73 per day starting January 18, 2022, and $186.00 for application filing costs. If not paid, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 29, 2022.
