What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay to the Landlord $5,565.30, which represents the amount of rent owing up to July 31, 2020 less the rent deposit held by the Landlord. The Tenants shall also pay to the Landlord $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before January 31, 2021, the Tenants will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
