What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenants did not meet the conditions specified in the previous order to pay the rent arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 14, 2022. The tenants must pay the landlord $2,717.30, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and the current arrears, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The tenants must also pay $83.34 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting February 4, 2022 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by February 14, 2022, the tenants will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
