What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per a previous order. The Tenant failed to pay the full amount ordered on or before November 1, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 9, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $9,769.39 for rent arrears and application fees, less the rent deposit. The Tenant must also pay $30.61 per day for compensation for use of the unit from December 1, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 9, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
