What happened

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 2, 2021. The tenants are ordered to pay $13,868.65 to the landlord, which includes rent arrears up to June 21, 2021 and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit. The tenants must also pay $52.78 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 22, 2021 until they move out. If the tenants do not pay the full amount by July 2, 2021, they will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
