What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants were in possession of the rental unit at the time of the application.

The ruling

The request for review was granted, and the Landlords' application will be heard de novo. The Tenants were ordered to pay $3,370 in rent arrears and costs by April 1, 2016. If the Tenants fail to make the required payments, the Landlords can apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants.
