What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to wilful damage to the premises and impaired safety of other persons in the residential complex. The Landlord claimed the Tenant's violent outbursts and threats have caused significant distress and fear among the upstairs tenants.
The ruling
The Landlord's application was granted in part. The tenancy is terminated effective October 11, 2019 due to the Tenant's behavior that seriously impaired the safety of other persons in the residential complex. The Tenant must pay the Landlord's application filing fee of $175 and will owe interest on any outstanding balance starting October 5, 2019. If the unit is not vacated by October 11, 2019, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement and the Tenant will owe $39.45 per day in compensation.
