What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective August 3, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay $390 in rent arrears and $190 in application filing costs, totaling $580 to the Landlord. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 29, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
