What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 31, 2017. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenants owe the Landlords $1,285.13, which includes compensation for use of the unit and interest on the rent deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 4, 2017, they will start to owe interest.
