What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant or a person visiting the Tenant seriously impairing the safety of another person and wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the rental unit and the residential complex.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before October 12, 2021. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,745.00 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage caused, $2,466.84 for compensation for the use of the unit from June 22, 2021 to October 7, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest, and $31.81 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from October 8, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out. The Tenant is also ordered to pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by October 12, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
