What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. Presila Mason (P.M.) vacated the rental unit in the summer of 2020, while Ross Booker (R.B.) and Shannon Crosson (S.C.) remained in possession. The dispute was over who was liable for the rent arrears and whether the parties acted reasonably to mitigate the losses.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $3,500 in rent arrears and $186 in application fees. If the full amount is not paid by April 24, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
